Football NSW Futsal Premier and Super League Teams announced for 2008

18.07.08 16:54

The official teams for both the Futsal Premier and Super League teams were announced at Football NSW Headquarters on Friday.

Eight teams will compete in the elite Futsal Premier League competition while fourteen will compete in the Super League.

Each team in the Premier League will be playing each other twice in a home and away scenario with last season’s winners Sydney Magic leading the charge as the team to beat having won the club championships three years in a row.

West City Crusaders are the new face of the Premier League having won promotion from the Super League this year.

The Super League will also be seen as an exciting battle for the club championship as it will see three new teams enter the fray in the Botany Bay Pirates and Sutherland FC and Fraser Park FC. Dural Warriors will be looking for promotion this season after finishing runners up last season

Sydney University FC has once again re-entered the competition while the South Coast Taipans (originally known as the South Coast Magic) have changed their name while the Parramatta Blueberries have been formed thanks to the Telechoice Premier League outfit West Sydney Berries joining forces with Parramatta Blues.
